And God said...

"You know, she loves lilacs. Let's give her a place where the scent of the lilacs will waft right into her bedroom, and she can put away that silly (though scentually accurate) room spray."

And so He did.

BTW, if you're looking for a good lilac room spray, my favorite is made by The White Barn Candle Co. If I remember correctly, it seems that's available at Bath & Body Works. I don't shop there anymore, since I can now make my own delightful products here at home (and enjoy my own lilacs) and also since I realized that of course their advertising will make my guys' ears burn -- they're in the same family as Victoria's Secret.

One of our many accomplishments yesterday was to plant our apple trees. It was so thoroughly satisfying to all who participated that we wish we could've planted a dozen more. It does give us something to look forward to next spring.

  1. What a blessing. One of our past houses had a lilac bush right outside our front door and ever since that house I have tried to plant more. No luck getting any to grow yet. I have to stick with the artificially accurate scents so far....

  2. You are going to have the most beautiful yard - it already is! How cool, apple trees. We found some baby Japanese Maples today. I'm probably wasting my time trying to transplant them, but oh well, it will be a learning experience. lol

Our wildflowers are a few inches tall now in the garden. Sometime in June we should have blooms, I hope.

How are you doing with your healthy eating, etc.? I've been eating a lot of whole foods and walking long distances. I'm down to 193.4 now. Praise the Lord! Did you know that until last Saturday I'd never walked downtown Hoptown? So, we did that day and again today. I've been asking questions about some of the houses as we see home owners. We've found an 1884 home and a 1930's Bungalow. We walked all the way from the new Court House, down to Robin Road (lol), and some other roads that were off of Main Street. It took us about two + hours. We also discovered the walkways by the library. We hope to go back once every week or two. :)

I am praying for you today, my friend. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday! Hugs, Robin

  3. I've been eating fairly healthily, but in generous quantities. LOL I haven't lost any since shortly after we moved, but I haven't gained any, either. I'm slowly adding more activity into my days, though, so we'll see what happens. The thought of biking on the trails, boating, hiking, and skiing is a pretty good motivator.

I have fond memories of the walkways behind the library... heh heh...

  4. Isn't it cool how God cares about stuff like that, Heidi? Your Lilac bush is beautiful! Are there baby Lilacs growing under it? My parents had a pretty good thing going with a transplant. It was about next-to-the-front-door shrub size after only a couple of years and there were lots of little ones coming up around it. Wish I had a place for something like that here!

    Nice pics!

    Thanks for the mention, btw.

  5. God loves to bless His Heidi with sweet surprises. I think Heaven must smell like lilacs!
